FIRE ACTION:
STAY PUT IN YOUR FLAT, FULL EVACUATION FROM COMMUNAL AREAS
The building is designed to contain a fire in the flat where it starts. This means it will usually be safe for you to stay in your own flat if the fire is elsewhere. However, you must leave the building if you are in the communal areas, feel threatened by the fire at any time, or are asked to leave by the Fire Brigade.
Leave the room where the fire is straight away, and close the door
Tell everyone in your home and get them to leave
Close the front door of your flat behind you
When you have evacuated the flat and are safe, call the Fire Brigade
Wait outside, and inform the Fire Brigade on their arrival
Leave the building immediately using the nearest exit and proceed to the fire assembly point when the fire alarm sounds
Call the Fire Brigade and if possible, meet them on arrival
If you are in any doubt, get out!
